I think the answer is still not given by ravish. Why society underwent a radical change in its outlook? Why orthodox hindu awakened in India? The answer to this question can not be given simply by blaming media for all this. I think society is not that simple a thing to be influenced by media. Morever, it is not new that media is being used by( modi) govt now, this practice has been going on since very long and congress is also to be blamed for this. Ravish is also confuse or should I say afraid to put the blame actually on society rather than media. If people despite ndtv and india today are watching republic then they should be blamed. He should accept that society has changed because of multiple factors and media is only a minute factor among those factors. Remember, media or any state institution can not create a narrative within society, it can only support a narrative. The intellectuals and liberals like him must ponder over those factors. They should scrutinize their definition of secularsim and the propaganda which they have peddled about certain people.
